The Altar Society is an organized group of men and women who care for the area around the church alter making sure all is in order for the holy sacrifice of the Mass.
The Priest's Vestments and altar cloths are dry cleaned, while the purificators, hand towels and other linens are laundered and returned pressed to the church. The hosts, candles, and holy water supplies are monitored to insure that enough are on hand for the special ceremonies and regular Masses. Flower arrangements are left to the discretion of the person in charge for the month. Silk arrangements are available at the church or fresh flowers may be used to decorate.
Only a little time is involved in this ministry, but the rewards are great. No previous experience is necessary and you will be trained if you are interested in joining the Altar Society.
