Local Knights of Columbus ask students to show how to "Keep Christ in Christmas" Youngsters will take part in Knights of Columbus International Competition. Shreveport's Knights of Columbus 1108 is inviting St Pius X boys and girls ages 5 through 14 to participate in the organizations international Keep Christ in Christmas" Poster Contest. "By engaging the creativity and imaginations of our young people, we hope they will come to a deeper understanding of the true, spiritual meaning of Christmas," said Council 1108 Grand Knight Ted Kapera. The contest will be conducted locally with winning entries advancing to district/region and then to state, national, and international levels. The winning entries will serve as the basis for a series of new Christmas posters that encourage a deeper understanding of the holiday. Posters must be submitted to St. Pius by December 15th. "The posters will be distributed in the countries where the Knights are active as part of our "Keep Christ in Christmas campaign," Said Grand Knight of 1108 Ted Kapera. "Creative Credit will also be given to the winning artists". Entry forms with rules are in both the Narthex and church office. Again, the deadline to turn in posters is December 15th. We congratulate again past winners in our Parish, Ella and Jessica, and look forward to seeing the new participants posters and awarding this years winner during announcements at Mass.
