Beginning in the month of January 2019, we will be scheduling two readers for the 10:00 A.M. Mass. The first name listed on the schedule will read the first reading. After the cantor/choir completes the responsorial psalm, the second reader will deliver the second reading and then return to his/her pew. When the Deacon is not available for the Mass, the first reader will carry the Book of Gospels during the procession and place it on the stand. The first reader will remain on the altar (as done in previous times). After reading the first reading, he/she may return to his/her pew. The second reader will then come to the altar as usual (after the responsorial psalm) and read the epistle. After completing this reading, he will remain on the altar. He will read the Prayers of the Faithful at the appropriate time and then return to his pew. After the final prayer, but before the final blessing, the first reader will return to the ambo and read the announcements. If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please contact David Pigott. Your participation in this important ministry is greatly appreciated.
