A letter from Donna, who received a prayer quilt from our ministry:
Words are not enough to express my "Thanks" to all of you. I've never received such a precious and special gift. I take it with me for Chemo, Doctor appointments & procedures. I feel like I'm wrapped in our sweet Lord's arms!!
So many people have commented on the blanket - they think it is a beautiful way to up lift someone to our Lord.
Thank you all, may God Bless You, and may you continue to bless people with your works. God bless.
Love in Christ, Donna
The Prayers and Squares Quilt Ministry provides prayer quilts for those in our St. Pius X Parish and their families and friends, facing health challenges. Unfortunately, limited resources only allow for assisting those within the St. Pius X Parish. The quilts are sown by members of the ministry.
The ministry is SUPPORTED SOLELY BY DONATIONS, including all supplies and materials.
Completed quilts are blessed by either Father Joe or Deacon Jeff, and then are brought to all the Masses so that parishioners can offer prayers and tie knots in the strings of the quilt. A prayer quilt has approximately 50 strings. Each knot represents a prayer that has been said for the intended recipient. Family and friends of the recipient can add their own prayers and tie knots.
Many past recipients of these quilts can testify to the healing and comforting power of these quilts. When attending Mass, quilts needing prayers will be mentioned in the announcments and are usually draped over the rear pews leaving the church. Please take a moment to say a prayer and tie a knot!
